Susan swam competitively at Gehringer Park from the time she was 10-16. She’s always been involved with children, running her own daycare for 16 years, while at the same time, her own children followed in her footsteps, swimming for Gehringer. After 17 years as stroke and turn judge, her last child, Kelly (18), finished her rec swimming career (summer of 2005).

Summer of 2008 will be Susan's 5th season with us. Her great stroke knowledge landed her the position of head stroke and turn for her league, as well as teaching a workshop to train new judges. She is so natural at teaching and has a very personable way with everyone she meets. Susan is a huge asset to ATSA not only as an awesome instructor, but as someone we can turn the everyday running of the academy over to, as we did last summer (2007). Susan did a marvelous job, as was testified to by the parents and swimmers she serviced.

Susan's words to us:
“My first year teaching at Aquatic Times was so incredibly rewarding as well as a challenge for me. I hope to continue to teach new swimmers the basics of water safety, respect of the water and a confidence in themselves, as well as show them what fun swimming is!”
